We open the ep
with the Big 3 eating, again. T'Pol says her courage doesn't need
testing, and Trip wonders if she'd look good in Triaxian Silk. He so
wants her. At least Reed can admit it! The look T'Pol gives Trip is so
funny! While everybody else treks down to the planet (away jackets!)
Malcolm gets control of the Bridge! Reed should be in command anyway.
Or T'Pol, he doesn't mind following her, that's for sure.
I thought this episode was a little spookey in the
beginning. What a shame that T'Pol doesn't get scared. She's got
no excuse to jump and cling to a certain well armed Armory Officer. Pity.
'Vulcan's don't imagine things' T'Pol tells Trip. Has she become
a complusive liar or what? T'Pol doesn't care for Trip's alien escapades,
and tells him so. She is a bit suspicious, and Trip should be as
well.

Reed, of course, is very skeptical and checks out the crashed aliens' story. He is very thorough, and crosses his arms as he gives the rundown to Archer. They give suspicion to Travis, but his saying the aeroponics bay isn't big enough 'not by a long shot' is so weak compared to Malcolm's technical analysis of damage and hull oxidation. Malcolm knows they are lying, and Archer now gives him persmission to dig further.
Now instead of seeing Reed and Hoshi's investigation, we get to see Trip and Chick. Trip is called to Archer's Ready Room, thinking T'Pol has told on him and his chick. Trip swears he's been a perfect 'gennelman' and Reed and Archer exchange looks. 80) Reed was so correct in his suspicions and finds the people loonched escape pods. Shouldn't they have been a little more careful at opening an escape pod? All weird gases and smells. EV suits? No, but Malcolm does have his phase pistol in hand. It's an escaped pod, Mr, Reed. It's been in orbit nearly 30 years. I don't think there is anyone inside that can harm you.

Aha! T'Pol meanwhile, has also discovered the crashed alien Odo peoples deceptions. Sure! Now you bring security. The aliens want them to stand down and leave, but Reed looks like he'll be damned before anyone takes away his phase pistol! He is only willing to retreat because I'm sure he already has a backup plan. Indeed Malcolm has already thought about the transporter, but figures it won't work do to the alien's damping field.
Malcolm vows to rescue 'T'Pol and Commander Tucker'!
Now, ahem, why would he address them as such? And to Archer of all people?
Shouldn't he have said 'The Sub-Commander and Trip'? This alludes he is
closer to T'Pol than he is to Trip, and that Archer knows this. Oh yeah!
>80)
Figures Reed goes away without an away jacket!
He's doing the Reed Walk! It looks even cooler when contrasting Archer's
easy upright stance. But alas, Reed gets shot. DK's got a great fake
cry of pain. Was that another stilted cuss? 80) Reed leans on Archer and
grunts and groans his way to cover. It's quite funny. Everything is all
dark and flashlights and you hear these two men eh eh eh ah eh ah. 80)

Nonetheless! Reed can shoot just as awesome with
his left hand, yet he still gets pummeled by a hologram. He gets
shot and beat, yet in a few minutes he has someone mysteriously recovered.
Did he mysteriously find an away jacket also? I must look again now!
Archer and Trip give their speeches, and Reed just sits on a cargo
box as if to say ' I already had it figured out, sirs!'
His arms are crossed and Archer askes Odo what happened to his real crew.
Again Reed is sitting there with what can only be described as a 'Duh!'
look
on his face.
Malcolm doesn't seem to interested when T'Pol is
released. I think he is deep in thought about how to make holographic
chicks, too.
