Phase Pistols & Pointed Ears:
The Seventh

T'Pol reads in bed-pink sheets!-so cool.  Allow we to describe her quarters, I don't know why I haven't already.  She's got a fancy Vulcan pillow, and some art on the wall. Her bench and candles are all there. Doug would call it a 'Meditation nook.'  T'Pol reports to Archer that he will be getting a message abouther Vulcan wheeling and dealing, and he is a jerk to her. It's getting old, buddy. T'Pol doesn't want to share about her 'matter of security'  and Archer whines about Vulcans being 'so enlightening.' Twit.  This is when the forcing of Archer and T'Pol really bugs me.  It makes sense that T'Pol would share a 'matter of security' with the uptight, repressed, would never tell a soul Security Officer, but no!

Why doesn't T'Pol ask Malcolm to go with her?  He can pilot, but they take Travis instead. I guess she doesn't want to hurt the Captain's feelings.  We know she trusts Malcolm and he is the ship's Security Officer! My eyes are rolling almost as much as they were during Cold Front.  Reed stands next to T'Pol, ramrod straight. Uh, remind me never to use the term ramrod again. T'Pol leans on the table while Archer babbles about taking Travis. Malcolm's head turns like Hey!  Archer continues to whine about T'Pol not telling, thus embarrassing her in front of everybody.  She noticibly sighs.  Reed doesn't seem to be paying attention, until the word Vulcan comes up.  Trip is annoyed, and doesn't want to wait.  Reed however proclaims 'I could use a few days to recalibrate the torpedo loonchers.' hehe. Trip picks up on this sex joke-make of it what you will. 'I could polish all the handles and rails in Engineering.' >80)

T'Pol reports she will need 'Cold weather gear, restraints, and phase pistols.'  Travis looks directly at Malcolm, then he and Trip look at each other like growl!  (After having also just watched Vanishing point, I am surprised no one has found Trip and Travis to be a viable ship.)
T'Pol goes to see Archer, and he so jock jerkly continues to watch water polo. T'Pol steps in front of the screen and Archer whines that if the Vulcans don't like his game, to bad.  So T'Pol was in the Ministry of Defense.  More for her to Mal to talk about.  Archer tells Porthos to move over, for this should be good. ArGh! Archer!

T'Pol tells the Vulcan story about the whole weeding out corruption thing, and again Archer tries to widdle out her age.  'I'm not that old, Captain.' T'Pol strikes back! T'Pol says she needs to leave to capture the 6th man that was assigned to her, it is a matter of honor to Vulcans. Okay then. She needs someone she can trust so she asks Archer? I'm still stratching my head over this one, folks.  Archer decides to go, and packs his stupid water polo bag for the trip. T'Pol fills Archer in on this Methos baddie.  She says she almost caught him on Risa. Hmm....flashbacks! I like Flashback T'Pol's hair. Cold Weather gear is cool, too.

So, now that Archer is supposed to be supporting Polly, we get Jerk Trip.  JT invites Malcolm and Phlox to the mess to eat and watch water polo.  Reed is annoyed and pissed. He was Upgrading his torpedo looncher!  Reed and Phlox look at each other and you know they intend to tease Trip for all he's worth.  Reedy whipes his hands on his thighs at the thought of Trip ordering bangers and mash.  Malcolm licks his lips and asks Trip if this would be alright with the Captain.  Trip's living it up in the 'Acting Captain's Mess'.   Malcolm must have worked up an appetite, for he eats away while Phlox is talking.   It's a neat camera shot.  I think Phlox is making up this infection just to see Trip's reaction to 'the runs'.  Malcolm raises his eyebrow.

Reed waits until right before Trip puts his food in his mouth before he asks. 'While we're on the subject of approvals...' Reed wants to power down to play with his weapons.  Trip doesn't want to take the engine offline, but Reedy protests its for one day, and they aren't going anywhere.  Trip counters, 'We're also not at war.' Malcolm shifts. Damn.  Malcolm comes back again, 'Is that the Acting Captain talking or the Chief Engineer?' Oh he is so teasing him!  DK looks back and forth at Phlox and his voice even changes. And how many times do you think it took them to get that scene, with Trinneer's pentiant for breaking the silverware?

Oh yeah, back to T'Pol on Ice Station Zebra.  She talks to Methos and her flashbacks increase. Why would the Vulcans send her on this mission having know what happened the first time around?  How much more can they do to her already?! T'Pol is very suspicious of Bad M at first, but he wheels and deals her into doubting herself. Archer sees this, but does little to help.  He debates with her, but Mr. Reed would just shoot him already.

T'Pol goes to Bad M's ship, but finds no bad evidence.  She doubts herself further, then tells Archer there were 7 fugitives she was to catch.  She killed Methos' partner on Risa and was brainwashed at P'Jem to forget it. Whew.  All Archer does is mention decon twice.  This whole episode is just too implausiable to me.  I don't even see the big deal aobut her accidental killing.  If she can remember it and admit it why can't she stun Methos and bring him back?  And AHA! Methos was guilty and she still can't stun him?  Archer talks T'Pol through it, for she doesn't trust herself but she'll do whatever Archer tells her to do? Illogical!

T'Pol says she'll be okay, now she's got to deal with it.  Naturally, Archer makes a jerkment about humans not having to repress things.  Great premise that should  have been shown better.
